    I wrote the pattern so there are no decreases on the purl rounds, only on knit rounds.

  2. jan 7 2009 i was looking at your site and found a nice hat pattern point lobo hat but i cant seen to be able to print it out

  3. I have the same question as Mary re: point lobos hat. I was doing fine until the decrease rounds and now everything looks wrong. It seems like a purl round (round 3)is missing in each set and the ridges don’t look right. Any idea what I might be doing wrong? And how do I get the same ridge look without round 3 being purled? Thanks, Wendi

  4. Wendi and Mary, You’re right, there’s an error in the pattern. When you hit the decreases, rounds 1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 should be worked as in the original. Rounds 4, 6, and 8 should have the decreases. My apologies!

  5. Made some edits based on the changes above, also makes it easy to follow. Hopefully I didn’t mess it up, lol.

    Cast On Cast on 80 stitches using circular needles. Place marker. Close circle.
    Using 8-Round Pattern Stitch:
    • Round 1: Purl around
    • Round 2: (YO, K2tog) around
    • Round 3: P around
    • Rounds 4-8: K around
    • Rounds 5: K around
    • Rounds 6: K around
    • Rounds 7: K around
    • Rounds 8: K around
    Ribbing:
    • Round 1: Knit 1, Purl 1
    • Round 2: Knit 1, Purl 1
    • Round 3: Knit 1, Purl 1
    • Round 4: Knit 1, Purl 1
    • Round 5: Knit 1, Purl 1
    Body of Hat
    Work 3 sets of 8-round pattern stitch.
    • Set 1:
    o Round 1: Purl around
    o Round 2: Yarn over and Knit 2 together
    o Round 3: Purl around
    o Rounds 4: Knit around
    o Rounds 5: Knit around
    o Rounds 6: Knit around
    o Rounds 7: Knit around
    o Rounds 8: Knit around
    • Set 2:
    o Round 1: Purl around
    o Round 2: Yarn over and Knit 2 together
    o Round 3: Purl around
    o Rounds 4: Knit around
    o Rounds 5: Knit around
    o Rounds 6: Knit around
    o Rounds 7: Knit around
    o Rounds 8: Knit around
    • Set 3:
    o Round 1: Purl around
    o Round 2: Yarn over and Knit 2 together
    o Round 3: Purl around
    o Rounds 4: Knit around

    Decreases
    Continue using 8-round pattern stitch with the following changes for a total of 3 sets. Switch to double-pointed needles when necessary.

    o Work rounds 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 as above

    o Work rounds 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 as above
    ? Round 1: Purl around
    ? Round 2: Yarn over and Knit 2 together

    ? Round 4: K5, Knit 2 together
    ? Round 5: Knit around
    ? Round 6: K4, Knit 2 together
    ? Round 7: Knit around

    Finishing After finishing decreases, cut yarn, leaving a 6” tail. Thread tail though a yarn needle and run the needle through
