Hmm. Don’t know of a pattern, but it looks like you could make a simple side to side garter stitch cardi in 3 parts. A aran or bulky wt cotton like blue sky?
The front hem is a toughie. If your friend is an experienced knitter, some shortrows might do the trick to make that nice edge rounded when you foldover (kind of like in the sunrise circle, but not soooo round). but I’m guessing the fit will be tough since you can’t see the arms well – they look loose and batwingy.
You can buy the original, take a batch of measurements and return (I’ve done it before….)

Have you tried the Drops site?? They’ve got tons of patterns and I think I remember seeing something like this one.
