By Hook or By Crook

Ok, so I can’t buy yarn. We didn’t say anything about knitting books. So today when I went to buy cat food I stopped at The Golden Fleece (quelle coincidence—it is only two blocks away from the pet supply store) and picked up a copy of Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Knitting Workshop. Pretty much, I had to. I mean I’ve been knitting for over four years now and still didn’t own a copy. My Knitters Cred (like Street Cred only fluffier and more decorative) was on the line. Now I can have a go at rib warmers, tomtems, and baby surprise jackets.

Things are getting festive in Santa Cruz.

  1. Isn’t Christmas in Santa Cruz grand? Only outdone by our signature Halloween!!
Don’t feel bad about EZ’s Knitting Workshop. I’ve been knitting over 30 years(!) and only just bought my copy a few months ago. Love it!!
You have to get the Knitting Workshop video series. The library downtown has all 3 in the series. I can’t believe how much I learned. Not that I ever doubted anyone but now I know why all knitters think she walks on water.
Right now I’m watching her Knitting Glossary on tape. Also from the library. I’m pretty sure that it will be going on my Christmas wishlist though! I don’t know what makes people say watching knitting is boring. So not!!!!
