A Work in Progress

I’ve taken a break from designing and am working on a lovely little knit, Damson by Ysolda Teague. This wonderful little shawl/shoulderette requires only a single skein of sock yarn—I’m using Zauberball in the Stormy Skies colorway.

My firend Chris knit up socks in the red version of this yarn and has passed the remainder on to me, so I’m planning to do the decorative bind-off in that color for a bit of contrast.

Zauberball knits up into a soft, drape-y fabrics with just a little bit of halo. A lot of lacy, single-skein patterns for this yarn have been showing up on Ravelry lately, the most popular of which seems to be Fizzi. Lace Fichu from Baxter Knits also looks good in this yarn, though the pattern wasn’t designed specifically for it. I’m planning to pick up one more skein so I can knit Abendwind, which I find absolutely irresistible.
